Non Surgical Wrinkle Reducing Treatment
What is it?
- Wrinkle reducing treatments are when your practitioner injects under the affected area such as brows causing the muscles to relax and help reduce the effect of wrinkles.
- A minute quantity of a chemical called "Vistabel®" or probably the more commonly known "Botox® " is injected to the muscles that cause dynamic lines.
- The injection temporarily prevents nerve signals from reaching the muscle and as a result the muscle relaxes and the skin smoothes out.
- These treatments have delivered safe, effective long term results with minimal swelling or redness and have a proven track record for effectiveness.
| What it can't do |
- Wrinkle fillers can not lift loose or sagging skin or correct raised or reddened scars.
- See MACS lift, scar revision and laser resurfacing for addressing these (all of which are offered by The Gatehouse Clinic)
What is involved? |
- Treatment can take as little as 10 minutes and most people return to normal activities immediately afterwards the smoothing effects of the first treatment typically lasts for up to 4 months.
Possible Side Effects
- Side effects, if they occur are usually temporary and mild to moderate, and are typically linked to the injections e.g. pain on injection, redness, swelling etc
- In very rare cases, the spread of botulinum toxin into nearby muscles is possible when high doses are injected, hence the need to see a specialist in this field. The Gatehouse Clinic have such specialists.
