My Breast Reduction Diary.
I am 39 years old and have 2 children. I have been unhappy with my breasts since the birth of my second child. These photos were taken on Sunday 11/3/2007, the day before my mastopexy (breast reduction) operation.

Post op - 2 days on
WOW! I feel great!. This photo was taken on Wednesday 14/3/07 - 2 days after my operation. I had no pain at all and no bruising at this stage.
AND I can see my ribs again - 1st time in 5 years! Even with the tapes and "lovely" bra, I feel sexy again!
Post Op - 1 week on

Ah!! I still feel great but the bruising is coming out now. These photos were taken on Monday 19/3/2007 - 1 week after the operation. I did have some itching around the nipples.
I haven't been in to see the nurse yet and I did have some worries about the bruising as I didn't know what to expect.
One phone call to the Gatehouse Clinic put my mind at ease - they were SO understanding and very helpful.
1st Date with Aggie
I was really scared when I saw the amount of bruising and what my breasts looked like. I need to remember that is is just 1 week after a major op.
I still had no pain but I did have tingling feelings in my nipples. I did have to have a few steri-strips on some areas.

Post op - nearly 2 weeks on

These photos were taken in between the 19/3/07 and 22/3/07. I am still very swollen and hard at this stage.
Couldn't sleep on my tummy or sides at this stage - only on my back but with 2 pillows it was fine. Boobies are sore if I accidently knock them but otherwise OK.
2nd Date with Aggie.
This was my second visit to see Aggie. What an improvement - bruising and wounds healing well and it's only 23rd March - just 2 weeks on! I was amazed as I don't normally heal that well!

Just over 2 weeks on.
Just over 2 weeks on - I was feeling a bit down this weekend after the effects of the anaesthetic.
Still looking great though! I'm feeling a bit anxious about whether boobies will both be the same size, as the right one feels slightly fuller.
But after Aggie's "No need to worry - wait until you see 6 weeks on", I felt so much better.
Two and a half weeks on - my friends want theirs done!
The swelling started to go down and the bruising has nearly gone now.
By the end of the day I'm feeling achy and tired, but not in pain. Most of my friends are now seriously thinking and saving up for the op since seeing my results .
Nearly 3 weeks on!
Three weeks on and I'd seen Aggie for the third time. I had a small reaction to the tape around my nipples so we improvised with smaller tape which seemed to work.
Either my husband or myself changed the tape every 4 days.
Aggie is still at the end of the phone if I need her, so very reassuring to know.
Nearly 5 weeks on

Nearly 5 weeks after operation I feel fine now and I can sleep on my side comfortably. I am wearing a sports bra at size 36D but these have room in them. I have been in these a week now.
By the end of the day however, it's lovely to get back into the support bra though.
Have been to seen Aggie again and she's taken the tapes off the nipples as they're starting to cause pinching effect as swelling goes down.
Started to put Nivea cream on scar area to keep supple. No soreness when wearing a bra now.
Went back to work this week and feel great as my clothes fit SO much better. Also holding shoulders back so much better posture and no back pain.
Boobies - 6 weeks on
6 Weeks! Yeeehaaa! The tapes are off!
I can have a proper shower and the boobies feel just like mine! I can take ownership now and am so looking forward to the summer.
