Mini Tummy Tuck
What is it?
  • A mini tummy tuck is an operation to remove excess fat and skin from the lower tummy and waist, giving an overall tighter and more toned looking tummy area
What it can't do
What is involved?
  • Your surgeon will make a cut across your waistline in a broad U-shape
  • The skin will be lifted and separated from the underlyling tissue and the excess fat removed, sometimes by liposuction.
  • The tummy muscles and associated tissue are then drawn together to tighten the waistline
  • The skin is pulled tight over the tummy, trimmed and then attached together
  • A mini-tummy tuck does not involve repositioning the navel
  • The operation will take one to two hours to complete.
  • You will require a general anaesthetic and a stay overnight in hospital.
Things to be aware of.
  • You can resume you normal activities within five to ten days and you should be fully recovered within two to three weeks.
  • Strenuous activity should be avoided for about a month after your operation
Your results
  • You can expect the results of your mini tummy tuck to last for quite a while, although your lifestyle, diet and exercise routine will play a part in it all.
  • Overeating too many fatty foods and not exercising will lead to a gradual build up of excess fat around the tummy, undoing all the good work a mini tummy tuck achieves.
